David K. Solacoff, M.D.

Dr. Solacoff was born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio where he graduated as valedictorian of his high school. He attended the Ohio State University serving in many leadership positions and graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Biology with a 3.95 GPA. He received numerous awards including being inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and being named as one of the 10 outstanding seniors at Ohio State. After graduation, he studied political philosophy for one year in England as a Rotary Scholar.
Dr. Solacoff attended the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and served in a number of leadership positions including as president of the student government and as a student member of the school of medicine’s admission committee. He graduated in 1993 and was awarded the Rosemary Reed award as the outstanding graduate in the areas of “academic excellence, integrity, and selfless contribution to the wellbeing of others”. He continued his medical education at Johns Hopkins Hospital serving as a resident in the department of orthopaedic surgery. Upon graduation from his residency, he was given the department of orthopaedics outstanding research award.
After finishing residency, Dr. Solacoff moved with his wife, a pediatrician and medical school classmate, to Wilmington. They have three children.
Dr Solacoff is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and practices general orthopaedics and sports medicine, excluding spine. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Delaware Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Delaware Medical Society.
Dr. Solacoff enjoys personally taking time with each of his patients and forming a strong doctor patient relationship. He does not use physician assistants or nurse practitioners in the office or for rounding in the hospital and his only partner is Dr. Casscells. This small office approach is unique in today’s world filled with multipractitioner offices and allows for a personal approach to our patients. The physicians and staff get to know the patients as individuals.
